From the Gemmibahn top station (2346 m), walk west past Hotel Wildstrubel to the large, weathered Berghotel (2314 m). The via ferrata begins beside two prominent cairns near the hotel.

Begin by crossing a long, distinctly wobbly three-rope bridge spanning the gap between the old and new Gemmi hotels, then pause before tackling the main wall. The route weaves up and down the rock face, twice crossing suspended round logs—both vertical and horizontal—beneath overhangs. It then follows the ridge toward the viewing platform and cable car station, climbing a dizzying 540-degree spiral ladder (an escape or entry point exists here) before reaching a stretch of wire netting. From the netting, the path drops steeply back into the void, continuing over narrow balance beams with airy leans outward, before a final arête leads to the finish around 2350 m.
