Access is via cable car to Berghaus Gumen, from where the via ferrata sections begin after a short walk-in. Section 1 climbs the rocky base of the Leiteregg, steepening along the ridge through a short iron-runged chimney, an exposed traverse above a drop, and a grassy rib to the Leitereggstock (2319 m). Section 2 continues along the ridge to an exposed shoulder, ascends a near-vertical ladder and steep chimney to Vorder Eggstock (2449 m), then crosses the 16 m Charlotte suspension bridge before following cabled rock and ridge terrain to the broad summit meadow of Mittler Eggstock (2420 m).

From the junction below the Mittler Eggstock, drop slightly south of the 2358 m gap before the Hinter Eggstock, then head right/west toward a steep, intimidating rock wall. The route steepens continuously; the crux section is short but overhanging and demands a confident, committed technique. A further exposed passage follows higher up before easier ground leads to the finish on the eastern summit of Hinter Eggstock (2436 m).

From the end of the ferrata, follow the white-blue-white waymarks across the meadows of Ober Bodens down to a footpath at Bützi, then zigzag west and continue on a near-horizontal path back to the Gumen lift station.
