The route climbs in a series of steps up the buttress of the Hinter Allalin ridge just above the hut, alternating between fixed-cable sections and easier traversing terrain.

From P. 3027 at the top of the via ferrata, descend the southwest flank on a route marked in white and blue to reach the Hohlaubgletscher, then traverse beneath the south wall to rejoin the Glacier Trail; snow can linger here well into summer.
