La Resgia is Pontresina's second via ferrata, a modern sport route set in compact rock above the village rather than a high-alpine glacier tour. Rated K3-4 with a K4+ crux, it features a striking rope bridge and a giant metal spider's web stretched below an overhang, giving exposed, playful climbing rather than sustained alpine difficulty. It can be combined with the tougher, shorter Languard via ferrata (K5) directly above for a longer, more demanding day. The route is closed from November to end of June for game protection.

Segment timings and vertical stats from the current VFOS dataset.
From the Resgia bus stop behind Hotel Palü, a new access path (since 2021) leads up to the ferrata entrance at about 1920 m in roughly 15 minutes. Approaching on foot from Pontresina station adds about 40 minutes; from the Rhätische Bahn Surovas station add about 20 minutes.
The route begins easily over slabby rock steps to a 3 m vertical ladder, then continues steeply but well protected, partly on artificial rungs, before a grass band leads right to the first highlight: a two-cable bridge to the "Eagle's Nest." From here iron rungs climb a slightly overhanging pillar, first right then left of the edge in a bold move - this crux section can be bypassed at K3. The route eases along a rock rib to a rest bench, then swings right along the top edge of a prominent rock face to reach the second highlight, a steel net stretched in front of an overhang, climbable on either side. Beyond this the climbing becomes more conventional, crossing a gully to the "black slab" and a broad ledge, with a few final short rock steps leading to the top at about 2170 m after roughly 1¾ hours, with fine views south to the Bernina group.
From the top of La Resgia, the Röntgenweg path descends past the monument to the German physicist down to Pontresina; keep left at the first fork to loop back toward La Resgia if needed. If continuing from the top of the Languard ferrata, follow the path down beside the chairlift past Alp Languard to the top of La Resgia, then take the same descent route to Pontresina.
