Via ferrata de la Videmanette 1 is the easiest of three iron ways on the Rubli above Rougemont and Saanen, rated K1 with about 160 m of ascent. It shares its lower section with Via ferrata 2 before climbing through the grassy southeast flank to the Rubli's main summit at 2285 m. This route also doubles as the standard descent path from the mountain.

From La Videmanette, walk to the saddle at point 2121, where the starting points for both Via ferrata 1 and 2 are located.
From the saddle, Via ferrata 1 and 2 follow the same line along the lower southwest ridge into the southeast flank. After crossing a slab the routes split; Via ferrata 1 continues directly up the grassy southeast flank to the Rubli summit (2285 m), where the summit cross and register are found.
Descend via the same Via ferrata 1 route back to the saddle, taking about half an hour.
