Approach + via ferrata + descent
This K4+ via ferrata lies below an army bunker near the 148 m Lac de Moiry dam above Grimentz, in a rocky but scenic industrial setting. Climbers ascend shaded rock opposite the arch dam, eventually gaining views over the turquoise lake. A steel-and-wood suspension bridge built in 2009 adds extra exposure at the junction with the easier exit route. The route is well secured in the sporty French style and open from June to late October.

From the Grimentz Torrent bus stop, check the information board, then follow the road in a wide arc up toward the base of the cliff to the east before leaving the road to reach the rock.
Climb a partly vegetated first wall to a niche, then tackle a steep, overhanging start. Traverse to an arete and climb it, moving from shade into possible sunshine. Descend a slightly brittle ledge, then ascend a slab to the junction where an exposed suspension bridge offers an easier escape toward the dam and restaurant.
From the lower escape route, descend to the dam and restaurant to rest. Cross the dam, then before the first tunnel take the zigzag path back down to the Grimentz Torrent bus stop.
