Route description This athletic K5 via ferrata climbs the north face of Monte San Salvatore above Lugano, following a route devised in memory of local mountain guide Delio Ossola. A single thick steel cable protects two vertical to overhanging rock sections, separated by a grassy rest ledge. The line finishes near the summit chapel, famed for its sweeping panorama over Lake Lugano and the surrounding peaks.

From the Pazzallo mid-station (492 m), follow the main trail toward San Salvatore for roughly 200 m, then branch right at the signpost onto a narrower path. This climbs steeply through forest to the via ferrata's start at about 680 m.

The route ascends two steep to overhanging rock steps linked by a single heavy steel cable, with iron rungs placed only at key spots. A grassy ledge partway up offers a good resting point before continuing to the top.

From the top of the ferrata (about 810 m), turn left along the cliff edge to reach the main trail, then head right and climb without difficulty to the summit chapel and viewing terrace at 912 m. Alternatively, turning left onto the main path leads directly back down to the Pazzallo mid-station.
