From the Berneuse gondola top station (2045 m), descend north to the chairlift base in a small basin (1905 m). Continue ahead, then left and zig-zag right past the chairlift up to a grassy ridge. Climb briefly before traversing right beneath the cliff to reach the via ferrata's start on the west face of the Tour d'Aï (about 2190 m).

The route follows the Voie des Vires, traversing ledges diagonally rightward before climbing through a chimney and a vertical to slightly overhanging wall. It then crosses a grassy band leftward and follows the ridge up to the summit of the Tour d'Aï (2331 m).

Descend the exposed, marked normal route along the southeast ridge, initially on its left side before following the narrowing arête, which broadens into grassy terrain. Continue down the grassy flank, bearing left above cliffs, then through a rocky gully. Turn right toward the Chalets d'Aï (1891 m), pass Lac d'Aï, and climb back up to Berneuse station. Alternatively, from Lac d'Aï, turn left and descend southwest, passing under the cable car to Le Temeley (1704 m) before zig-zagging through forest down to Leysin-Feydey.
